To extend the life of your candle and for candle safety follow these simple steps.
Step 1 – The First Burn
- The first time you light your candle, you will need to let it burn until the wax melts to the edges of the vessel usually around 1-2 hours depending on the size of your candle.
- By doing this you’ll create a burn memory for your candle and prevent wax wastage. If a tunnelling effect occurs, wait until the soy wax is soft enough to scrape down the sides to ensure the next burn is even.
- Never allow a candle to burn unattended, in drafts, in reach of children or pets.
- Do not allow your candle to burn for longer than 3-4 hours.
- Allow the candle wax to cool and harden before moving it. This will also help it set evenly.
Step 2 – Relighting
- Trim the wick. Before lighting always trim the wick to 4mm and remove any wick debris. This encourages an even burn whilst helping to eliminate dripping, smoking and excessive "mushrooming".
